Maple Pruning in New Edinburgh

Last week I pruned a maple tree that had not been pruned before. It had a lot of weak branches going all over the place and were going to grow weak and brittle. By taking out the profusion and establishing a strong structure, this tree will do a lot better in ice storms and strong winds, and also focus the growth into fewer limbs. The tree is still growing vigorously and is in great shape. I’m looking forward to seeing it evolve.

I got a great view of Ottawa while I was up there

The branches made some very good quality wood chips. I gave them to a group of residents a block away wanting it for their garden.
